Accomodations
Academic panels at the 2026 MGSA SYMPOSIUM will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, and conclude late in the day on Saturday, October 17th, 2026. The keynote address and a dinner following will take place on the evening of Saturday, October 17th, 2026.
On Sunday morning, October 18th, 2026, there will be no further academic panels, only a plenary business meeting & an MGSA Executive Committee meeting
THE CONFERENCE HOTEL
The official conference hotel for the 29th MGSA Symposium is the CROWNE PLAZA CHICAGO WEST LOOP, at 25 South Halstead Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661. We anticipate most of our members will choose this hotel, as it is conveniently located in the old Greektown and only a short 15-minute walk to the conference site; only 10 minutes from the National Hellenic Museum; and a stone’s throw away from a selection of Greek and other restaurants.
The MGSA has reserved 75 rooms with King Beds & 25 rooms with Double Beds. The U of I University rate for both types of rooms is $269 per night (inclusive of all taxes and fees).
Please note that, for those transatlantic travelers coming from afar, we have also guaranteed this university rate for the night of Wednesday, October 14th.
